Canucks now third with win over Wild

The Skinny: Henrik Sedin scored his career-high 19th goal four minutes into overtime as the Canucks won their third game in a row. Roberto Luongo made 33 saves for his 30th victory of the season while Pavol Demitra scored Vancouver’s lone marker in regulation.

The Warrior: Willie Mitchell blocked a point shot with his ankle early in an overtime penalty kill, but found a way to gut out his shift, helping to kill off the 4-on-3 power play.

The Move: With the victory, the Canucks leapfrogged both the Blackhawks and the Flames in the standings. Vancouver now sits third in the Western Conference behind only San Jose and Detroit.

The Bagel: The Canucks failed to register a shot in the third period. It’s the fifth time in franchise history that Vancouver has gone shotless in a twenty minute frame.

The Rating: What do paint drying, grass growing and this game have in common? You get the idea. ½ out of 5 stars.

The Next Game: Vancouver begins April at home when they welcome a desperate Ducks squad to GM Place tomorrow.
