Car linked to crime found in Montreal

Halifax Regional Police say they have no idea why a stolen car they were looking for in regards to an attempted murder from the weekend was located in Montreal.

Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said the vehicle was found by the Montreal Police Service late on Monday afternoon.

The car — a four-door 2003 blue Honda Civic — was found with nobody inside.

The car has been impounded and will either be looked over by Montreal police, or investigators from HRP will fly to the city and do it themselves.

Between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, police say a 37-year-old man suffered severe head injuries during a beating inside his apartment on the 200 block of Willett Street.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but stable injuries.

There have been no arrests.
