There’s a lineup at Darrell’s, so my friend and I return a half hour later. This time we easily find a table in the bottom level of this casual, friendly restaurant.
Darrell’s is famous for a lot of things on their large menu, so we decide to share a few items, including a smooth and delicious chocolate milkshake.
I indulge in their Peanut Butter Burger which, while unusual, is a tasty creation with a layer of peanut butter that sticks to the roof of your mouth, not to mention bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar and mayo. The homemade fries on the side are fat and spicy.
My friend’s Pump-It-Up Wrap, while not as impressive as the burger, is loaded with Cajun grilled chicken, mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, tomato, red cabbage, broccoli, cucumber and ranch dressing.
The corn chowder is rich, steaming hot and has great flavour.
No wonder there was a lineup.
