Prout scored his first goal of the season early in the fourth to give the Mammoth a 10-8 lead, but Prepchuk cut the lead back down to one with a goal less than a minute later.

The Mammoth finally pulled away, scoring four of the game’s final six goals including an empty-net tally by Sims to win for the second time in as many games this season.

“It was a battle all the way,” Mammoth coach Bob McMahon said. “Edmonton never allowed us to pull away, but our guys kept the pressure on.”
