Marcia Simmons had promised to take her daughter camping this past weekend in Woodstock, N.B., just an hour west of their Fredericton-area home.
It was sure to be busy at the campground, so, without telling anyone, Simmons drove there early Saturday afternoon to stake out a spot.
And that’s when an 18-hour ordeal began that left her stranded in Toronto the next morning.
“It was when she was pulling into the campground that the individual got into the back seat and said, ‘You’re taking me to Toronto,” said Simmons’s ex-husband, Jeff Watson, last night.
The carjacker, who identified himself as Jamie or James, is described as slim white male who appears to be in his early 20s. He is about 5-foot-8, has facial piercings and is clean shaven.
