Cat-owner pleads guilty in animal cruelty case

A 67-year-old man pleaded guilty to cruelty after OHS inspectors charged him with failing to provide adequate food and water to two cats in his care, and for permitting distress to animals.

An OHS agent was called to a residence in July and discovered the bodies of the two cats. Unopened cans of cat food were found in the residence, and the only water source was a stagnant toilet. The resident had allegedly not been living there for more than a month.

Charles Hogg, received two years probation and a $750 fine.
