Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall will receive an award honouring her career in film and television at the 29th Banff World Television Festival, The Canadian Press reports.


The British-born Cattrall, 51, spent much of her childhood and adolescence in Canada and became famous for her role in Porky’s, her friendship with late prime minister Pierre Trudeau and her memorable turn as arch femme fatale Samantha Jones on Sex And The City, the HBO hit comedy.


The NBC Universal Award of Distinction will be presented on June 9 at the Banff World Television Awards.
