Halifax regional fire is continuing to investigate the cause of Tuesday’s fatal fire that claimed the life of a Dartmouth man.
According to Capt. Dave Meldrum of Halifax fire, investigators have left the scene of the fire at 112 Pinecrest Drive, but are still trying to determine the cause.
“Sadly, there’s not a whole lot of new information I can provide … until (investigators) get a chance to do their work,” he said.
Firefighters responded just after 5 p.m. Tuesday to the blaze at the three-storey building. According to platoon Chief Mike Blackburn, the fire was quickly put out, and one person was found dead inside.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released pending notification of next of kin. Police do not believe the fire to be suspicious.
