CBS show 'Live to Tell' tells stories about people who face death

Most people think that life has tested them, but they're only bumps in the road compared to the subjects in a new CBS series that begins Saturday night.

Most people think that life has tested them, but they're only bumps in the road compared to the subjects in a new CBS series that begins Saturday night.

Called "Live to Tell," it's from the "48 Hours Mystery" production team and will air in the 10 p.m. EST time slot. Each show's subject faced life-altering, if not life-ending, moments.

Saturday's show features Cylin Busby, a woman whose police officer father was shot by a thug. He survived, but the family was convinced they would all be killed and spent years on the run. Another episode features a couple who were stalked, kidnapped, pushed to the edge of a river, shot and left for dead. The final "Live to Tell" is about a family sailing around the world when, after an accident, the woman was forced to choose between saving her husband or their four children.

Senior producer Judy Tygard developed the series, which could expand if it does well.
