• The Trinity-Bellwoods Community Greenhouse holds an open house by candlelight to live music from 8:30-9:30 p.m. at Toronto’s Trinity-Bellwoods Park.

• The Sheraton Centre hotel at 123 Queen St. W. illuminates its waterfall garden with floating candles between 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Local artist Riad Jisri paints by candlelight in the lobby near a table set for children to make eco-friendly crafts.

• The landmark Fairmont Royal York hotel extinguishes its exterior red neon signs and welcomes guests by candlelight from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. The candle-lit Library Bar serves green-themed cocktails.

• Three candlelight walks will be held through Bloor West Village, the Junction and High Park. Following the walks, at 9:30 p.m., there’s a community reception at Runnymede United Church sponsored by MPP Cheri DiNovo. Visit www.green13toronto.blogspot.com for details.

• The Toronto Vegetarian Association hosts Beyond Earth Hour: A celebration of green eating. This candlelight “cocktail party with a twist” at the University of Toronto’s Hart House will emphasize the connections between food and the environment, with vegetarian hors d'oeuvres and live locally grown music. Talks will be presented by City Councillor Adam Vaughan, environmental researcher Nimisha Raja and restaurant owner Angus Crawford. Starts at 7 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales and a silent auction go to the Toronto Vegetarian Association. For more information, visit www.veg.ca/earthhour.

• A special candlelight yoga class celebrating Earth Hour will be held 8:15-9:30 p.m. at The Big Stretch Yoga Centre (1560 Bayview Ave.). The $15 fee will be donated entirely to the World Wildlife Fund. (To reserve a space, call 416-486-4448.)
