Celebs help Daffodil Days

Spring was out in full bloom yesterday at the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days launch.

Celebrity volunteers set up shop at Bow Valley Square downtown, selling bunches of daffodils and vases in support of all types of cancer, CCS spokesperson Julene Warren said.

“Everybody loves them. It’s been going really well so far and people really love buying their flowers from the celebrities,” she said.

Calgary Stampeder Mike Labinjo had no problem posing with the pretty yellow flowers because he said it’s all for a good cause. “I think any time you can help out … it’s a good thing and leaves a good feeling in your heart,” he said.

The society hopes to raise more than last year’s Alberta total of $470,000.
