Celebs out in force last week

CTV anchor Coleen Christie cuddles up to Sanafir and Glowbal Restaurant Group owner Emad Yacoub at Champagne and Shoes.

Pinch me — I must be dreaming. At least that’s what I thought last week as diamonds, champagne, battling bars and movie stars made for a celebrity-studded week of fun and fundraisers.

Sanafir restaurant’s first annual Champagne and Shoes event, which raised money for B.C. Cancer, kicked off the weekend in style. The champagne continued to flow Friday night at the exclusive Steve Nash VIP “Carats” diamond and poker event, held in conjunction with the NBA star’s classic basketball fundraiser for kids. The next day, once the bubbly was gone, it was down to Yaletown to judge the Epic Battle of the Bartenders at the Yaletown Street Party. The competition was fierce and picking a fave wasn’t easy for us — but fourteen cocktails later, we crowned a winner. Then, for those still standing, Rouge 2007 was the place to be as A-list actors and industry pros danced the night away in support of Women in Film and Video Vancouver (WIFVV).

Looking sole-ful at Sanafir’s Shoes and Champagne is host Fiona Forbes, of Shaw’s Urban Rush, in a pair of red Salvatore Ferragamo heels.

Seen at Rouge ’07, Corner Gas star Gabrielle Miller, left, works double time on the set of Robson Arms with fellow actress April Telek.

Actress Erin Karpluk, left, and agent Trina Allen are among VIPs at the movie and TV industry party Rouge ’07.

Will & Grace star Eric McCormack is among celebs at Rouge ’07 thanks to organizer and hostess Rory Richards.

Musician/actor Eric Benet, no longer married to Halle Berry, and friend Paul Woo look good at Rouge ’07.

Sanafir GM Patrick Austin, left, and manager Jeffery Penna are shoe-ins thanks to this big bottle of Moët et Chandon champagne.

Actress Joely Collins, right, is front row with friends Christene Sache, Claudio Chis and Chantal De Lescure at Sanafir’s shoe show.

David and Manjy Sidoo arrive at the Steve Nash Carats event with composer/producer David Foster.

Lots of rain doesn’t dampen the spirits of newly crowned Epic Battle of the Bartender winner Jay Jones, right, of Bar None, as he narrowly defeats Bardot’s Waldo Villeda.

Actress Sonya Salomaa, here at Rouge ’07, can be seen next on screen in Painkiller Jane.

NBA star Steve Nash, left, nets the cash thanks to Carats diamond man Colin Ferguson and fellow Phoenix Sun Raja Bell as they host a $10,000 per couple, celebrity poker party fundraiser for kids.
