MARTY SAYS: The Stampeders suffered a surprising setback last week against Edmonton, and I suspect they'll be flying high this week in an effort to make amends. Now that the Bombers are healthy again, they're not bad, but...
MARTY'S PICK: TAKE CALGARY MINUS THE 5.5 POINTS.
SATURDAY, Sept. 16:
Edmonton at Hamilton
ODDSMAKERS' LINE: Edmonton is favoured by 7.5 points
MARTY SAYS: The Pussy-Cats drive me crazy. We know they can't win. We know they're utterly dreadful. We know they may not score a touchdown. The question is whether they can cover the spread. Well, sometimes they do, believe it or not, and they should be able to against the Eskimos. Remember, the Esks haven't won a road game this season (0-5), so there's no reason to suspect they're going to be that much better than the Pussy-Cats in this one.
MARTY'S PICK: TAKE HAMILTON PLUS THE 7.5 POINTS.
SATURDAY, Sept. 16:
Montreal at B.C.
ODDSMAKERS' LINE: B.C. is favoured by 6.5 points.
MARTY SAYS: The Alouettes are slumping and playing some poor football, while the Lions have emerged in my mind as the premier team in the CFL. They've been resting, they're at home for this game, they beat the Als in Montreal in their last game, and the Als might be tired from time-zone problems. Laying the points makes sense. But, hey, I've been slumping and doing some poor handicapping myself lately. I'm as cold as the case of beer that's been in my fridge for the last week. Come to think of it, I think I should go and grab a bottle. Now.
MARTY'S PICK: TAKE B.C. MINUS THE 6.5 POINTS.
Edmonton 35, Calgary 26
Toronto 11, Hamilton 9
Winnipeg 27, Saskatchewan 23
