HALIFAX – Police in Halifax have charged a woman with manslaughter in the death of a 64-year-old man.
Investigators say the 28-year-old woman was initially charged with aggravated assault following a suspicious fall at a home in Brookside last July.
David Burgess was admitted to hospital in critical condition, but died days later.
An autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death and the major crime unit investigated.
As a result, the woman is now facing the more serious charge.
Police say the victim knew the accused, who is due in court today.
