Fifteen charges have been laid against a man after three people were robbed within hours of each other on the streets of Toronto.

Police say a 19-year-old man suffered injuries to his face when his money and iPod were stolen by a knife-wielding man early Tuesday.

About an hour and a half later, a 24-year-old man was approached by a man with a knife who demanded a cigarette and tried to assault him, but the victim got away.

Later that morning, police say a 38-year-old woman was waiting for a streetcar when a man with a knife grabbed her arm but she managed to get away.

Police say the man chased the woman who got into a taxi, while the man stood outside the locked cab holding the knife.

Matthew Dawson, 37, of no fixed address, faces a slew of charges including robbery, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon.
