Charges laid in home invasion

A 25-year-old man believed to be a Bloods street gang member faces a slew of charges in connection to a Valentine’s Day home invasion.

In the early hours of Feb. 14, three males and one female made their way into a residence on Deerfield Drive, at which time one of the males threatened the tenants with a shotgun, police said.

The intruders later made off with numerous items from the residence.

Suspect Richard Ellis faces charges including four counts of robbery, forcible confinement and pointing a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police continue to seek an English-speaking white male, 20 to 24 years old, five feet 10 inches to six feet tall with a muscular build; a male with a medium build, and a black female, 18 to 25 years old with a medium build.
