DARTMOUTH, N.S. — Police say charges are pending against a lawyer after drugs were allegedly given to an inmate at a Halifax-area jail.
Officers were called to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon after a complaint that a package containing drugs had been given to an inmate.
Const. Brian Palmeter says the package contained prescription narcotics.
A 56-year-old woman, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested Tuesday night without incident.
Police say drug-related charges are pending against both the woman and an inmate.
The investigation is ongoing, and no court dates have been set.
