Steady, teddy. It’s a terrible world out there when thieves can make off with Toronto’s “Care Bears’’
Many of the 200 stuffed teddy bears, cats, and puppies left in public places throughout downtown Toronto — as part of a local Children’s Aid Societies campaign to raise awareness of child abuse — have been stolen.
And the societies want the purloined plushies, who were all wearing “Show You Care, Toronto” tags, back.
“We’re asking anyone who’s taken them to return them to any of the four Children’s Aid offices,” said Anne Rappé, manager of communications for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. No questions will be asked.
“And please, leave the remaining toys where they are.”
