When Chelsea Clinton, the only daughter of former President Bill and
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, married Marc Mezvinsky in an
extravagant ceremony in Rhinebeck, N.Y., last July, the event was dubbed
“America’s Royal Wedding.” So what do you call their separation after
five months of marriage?
Mezvinsky, a former Goldman Sachs investment banker, quit his job in
December. A former coworker at Mezvinsky’s old firm, Manhattan-based G3
Capital, said, “Marc left G3 in December, but he will be starting at
another financial firm in mid- April. He was besieged with job offers
after he officially became the Clintons’ son-in-law.”

Mezvinsky has been spending his break from work — and maybe Chelsea —
skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyo. He arrived in Jackson Hole in early January
and plans to stay until April. Mezvinsky has so far behaved
circumspect, but he has been seen chatting with pretty women at the
Mangy Moose. Chelsea reportedly will make periodic visits.
The office of Mezvinsky’s mother, Marjorie Margolies, issued a terse “no comment” when asked if the couple was still together.
A family member told Metro, “The craziness of the wedding-planning,
publicity and jockeying of potential guests- really burned him out. He
never really recovered. Chelsea and he were fighting. It was Chelsea
that suggested that he take a break and go skiing. Maybe she saw how her
mother’s move to New York to run for the Senate saved the Clintons’
However, People reported yesterday, that a friend of newlyweds says, “The happy couple are happy ... Any report suggesting there is trouble in the marriage is absolutely false.”
