Chief pleads not guilty to pot possession

TRURO, N.S. – A Nova Scotia native chief pleaded not guilty today to a charge of marijuana possession.

Millbrook First Nation Chief Lawrence Paul will stand trial on April 24 after his lawyer entered the plea on his behalf in a Truro court.

The 77-year-old chief was charged after Truro police allege they found the drug on him last Nov. 21.
