CHIEFS 3 - GIANTS 1

The Vancouver Giants only managed one goal in their final game of the season last night in Spokane, as the Chiefs eliminated the defending Memorial Cup champions from post-season play.

Tyson Sexsmith turned in a strong performance for the Giants, stopping 23 of the 25 shots that Spokane fired at him.

But, despite Sexsmith’s good outing, Jared Cowan and Ondrej Roman were able to find the back of the net. Spokane captain Chris Bruton added an empty-net goal to round out Spokane’s scoring.

Jonathan Blum scored the lone goal for Vancouver.

Spokane moves on to face the Tri-City Americans in the Western Conference finals.
