A 24-year–old Gatineau woman is facing numerous
criminal charges after her two-year-old son was rushed to the hospital
after it was believed he ingested drugs on Sunday evening.
Gatineau emergency crews were called to a residence
near Mont-Bleu Boulevard after a child was found unconscious next to a
water bottle believed to have contained gamma-hydroxybutyrate – the
rave drug commonly known as GHB.
Paramedics took the boy to a hospital in Hull and he was transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
Police said they are analyzing the liquid inside the bottle.
A 24-year-old woman faces charges of child
endangerment, criminal negligence causing harm and drug possession. She
next appears in court July 27.
