Officials blame Calgary’s current heat wave for the numerous pool closures, sighting excessive use as part of the problem.
Prairie Winds pool was the first to be closed on July 20, followed by Valley View pool and the Eau Claire Market wading. Those three have since been re-opened.
Silver Springs, was closed last Friday, as well as Olympic Plaza. All of the pools closed had some kind of bacterial problem in the water, but Riley Park was the only pool that fecal matter was not found in.
