New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Friday endorsed Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
In the latest sign that the Republican party is starting to accept that current front-runner Trump could win the party’s nomination, Gov. Christie appeared at a news conference with the billionaire as he endorsed his bid for the presidency, CNBC has reported.

“I am proud to be here to endorse Donald Trump,” Christie was quoted by the New York Times, adding that he believed Trump “will do exactly what needs to be done to make America a leader around the world again.”
His endorsement of Trump is a bit of a departure from Christie’s recent tone in the election cycle, as he repeatedly said that it was time to end the “entertainment” portion of the race, the Times added.
"I can guarantee you that the one person that Hillary and Bill Clinton don’t want to see on that stage come September is Donald Trump," Christie was quoted by The Hill during his endorsement.
