Andrew Sullivan of the Dalhousie Tigers has been awarded the Ken Shields Trophy as Canadian Interuniversity Sport’s outstanding student-athlete in men’s basketball, and for his commitment to community service.

Sullivan, a fifth-year guard, averaged 10.1 points per game last season and stands second in Dalhousie history with 391 career assists.

Halifax’s Christian Upshaw of the St. Francis Xavier X-Men was named a first-team all-Canadian, while Joey Haywood of the Saint Mary’s Huskies earned a spot on the second team.

Phil Nkrumah of the Cape Breton Capers picked up defensive player of the year while Josh Whyte of the British Columbia Thunderbirds was named the country’s most outstanding player.
