Cities rally for protest

While the average Canadian may have forgotten about June’s G20, activists like Alex Hundert are still facing its consequences.

Hundert faced conspiracy charges as a result of his involvement in G20 protests. He was arrested again after speaking at a Ryerson University panel, considered a violation of his bail.

A peaceful protest in support of Hundert was organized in front of Edmonton police headquarters yesterday.

“I’ve organized alongside Alex for about four years now. It’s personal for me that my friend is being arrested by police after being at a panel,” said activist Chelsea Taylor. “They are really ratcheting up the levels of police harassment and intimidation.”

The gathering distanced itself from the quiet intellectual conversation of a panel, while demonstrating the peaceful actions of the majority of protesters.
