City freezes development fees

The fees developers pay when they build new homes in Toronto will be frozen for the next two years, city council has decided.

And even when a higher fee schedule does kick in after the freeze, the higher charges will become effective only if a minimum number of building permits has been issued in the previous year, indicating a healthy demand for new housing.
