City man charged in cases of inappropriate touching

Ottawa police have identified and charged a man after investigating several reports of inappropriate touching in Kanata that occurred over a two-week span.

Police said at 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 22, a 17-year-old woman was waiting for a bus on Steeplechase Drive near Forillon Crescent. A male got onto the bus with her and sat down beside her. The woman was inappropriately touched.

On Nov. 4, the same male sat down beside the same woman on another OC Transpo bus, where she was inappropriately touched again, police said.

On Nov. 3, at approximately 8:30 a.m., two girls, ages 14 and 15, were waiting for a bus on Steeplechase Drive near Inwood Drive. A male engaged in conversation with both girls. One of the girls was inappropriately touched.

Between mid-October and the beginning of November, police alleged a male repeatedly followed a 24-year-old woman in the Kanata area and inappropriately touched her on two occasions while riding on an OC Transpo bus.

Police charged a 38-year-old Ottawa man with four counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference and one count of criminal harassment.

Sameh Tawfik Nasr appeared in court Monday.
