Police arrested a 46-year old Halifax man they say they caught with break-in tools on Thursday.

Just after 2 p.m., Halifax Regional Police officers noticed a man selling another man a GPS unit on Fenwick Street. Officers questioned the vendor and determined the GPS to have been stolen.

The man was in possession of two GPS units he admitted stealing from the Westin Hotel. He is facing charges of theft as well as possession of break and enter tools.

Police say thefts from vehicles in central and west Halifax is on the rise and advise motorists to keep items out of plain view when they are not in their vehicle.
