With expected increasing fuel costs, mouths to feed and disruptions in areas where Edmonton’s food is grown, what is the city doing to secure its food?

Strategies proposed by the city on this and other sustainability scenarios are outlined in The Way We Green: Edmonton’s Environmental Strategic Plan, expected to be the next of the city’s six major strategic plans to be approved once public feedback is received.

“You can’t be an island of sustainability on a planet of consumption,” said Jim Andrais, program manager, Environment, with the City of Edmonton.
