Police have identified the woman found dead over the weekend in Fish Creek Park as 38-year-old Laura Gulia Furlan.

While police consider her death suspicious, they haven’t officially declared the death a murder and they won’t release the cause of her death, according to Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus.

Furlan lived and worked in the downtown and was reported missing by her family on Aug. 31, but was last reported seen on Aug. 24, police said.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in piecing together the time she was last seen, until the time she was found dead. The body was found Monday morning by a man walking his dog.
