When Kaleung Hui arrived in Calgary from Hong Kong 10 years ago he could never have dreamed what difference a decade would make.

Hui is the winner of this year’s $600,000 Stampede Lottery’s Rotary Dream Home, a luxurious, three-bedroom, fully-furnished abode designed by Homes by Avi.

The 34-year-old auto-mechanic plans on moving his entire family, as well as his soon-to-be wife, into the house, which will be moved to the northwest community of Panorama View.

“I don’t know how I feel, it’s honestly a dream — now I have to buy my girlfriend a ring,” Hui said yesterday. “When they called me, I was in shock, I just couldn’t speak.”

Hui says he’s never won anything before and had been saving up — hoping one day he’d be able to buy a home in Calgary.

The Calgary Stampede Lottery doled out more than $1.3 million in prizes.
