Civil City doesn’t help homeless

Re: Council knows you are concerned.

Mayor Sullivan and the NPA’s latest scheme, Project Civil City, will only exacerbate the poverty divide in our city.

It purports to eliminate homelessness, but does not mention any new housing. Instead of directing resources to get people off the street, it spends tens of thousands on bylaw enforcement officers. Civil City is more about arresting and hiding people rather than helping them.

The way to "clean up" our city is to fund housing, community programs, job training and drug treatment.

Mayor Sullivan is not showing the leadership that Vancouver needs.
