Clean clothes and hot meals

Washers and dryers made way for turkey and gravy yesterday at the Millbourne Laundromat.

Millbourne Laundromat has been serving a free Thanksgiving meal to the community for 19 years, and even though the owners of the laundromat have changed during that time, the desire to keep this tradition going has remained.

“This is my sixth year, but it was the previous owners that started this,” said owner Dia Park. “I thought it was a great idea to share together and build a community.”

Volunteers from the Rotary Club and the Filipino Foreign Worker Volunteer Chefs helped prepare all the food for the occasion, and local businesses helped by donating both money and food.
