Clerk suffers head injuries in theft attempt

A clerk at a west-end 7-Eleven convenience store was taken to hospital with head injuries he suffered during an attempted robbery early yesterday morning.

Around 5:15 a.m. a male and a female entered the store at 1386 Richmond Rd., near the Lincoln Heights Mall, and threatened the clerk with a crow bar.

When the clerk protested, a struggle ensued with both suspects that resulted in the clerk and the female offender both receiving minor head injuries. The suspects then fled the scene on foot empty-handed.

The male suspect is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, five-foot-six with a slim build and stubble on his face. He was wearing a waist-length jacket with black on the bottom and grey on the top and red lettering on the chest, a black toque and blue jeans.

The female suspect was described as around 28 years old, five-foot-six with a slim build. She was wearing a black jacket with brown fur on the hood, a white toque and scarf or bandana, and blue jeans.
