Coat holds clues to September slaying

The investigation into the death of Emmanuel Amoah, whose remains were found Sept. 14 on the city’s south side, continues and police are hoping images of a coat will help lead them to a suspect.

Police spokesperson Karen Carlson said the coat did not belong to the victim. “The location where it was found is being withheld at this particular time,” Carlson said.

“It belongs to some one of interest to the investigation.”

The black, waste-length, thick, cotton coat is currently being forensically examined and investigators are awaiting test results.

Amoah was a student at Centre High and was last seen after leaving school on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 1. Anyone who may have information about this coat is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567. Anonymous information can be directed to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
