Colin buffs off pallor with Dermalogica

Saucy Scottish decor guru Colin McAllister

Colin McAllister, co-host of HGTV’s Colin & Justin: How Not To Decorate. The pair will be signing their book of the same name on May 24 at Indigo in the Manulife Centre:

Q: What products make you look and feel good?

A: I use Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, which is fab at buffing off that stubborn grey pallor, which can come courtesy of 15-hour days. I follow with Redken For Men cleansing bar and then finish everything off with Zirh Defend SPF 15 moisturizer.

Q: Describe your style?

A: I’m camp-conservative- meets-smart-casual. On non-filming days I love nothing better than wearing combat pants or jeans. It’s better to find one’s own style rather than becoming a total fashion victim.

Q: How do you keep life in perspective?

A: I really do think that one of the perks of getting older is that you really do start to become delightfully docile with age. I’m also now emotionally equipped to remind myself on a daily basis of how blessed I am. Life is good!

Q: How do you stay fit?

A: I stay fit by avoiding stress both from work pressure and from the pressures around us to conform. I am happy in my own skin and I have learned to laugh at myself.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: The first thing I do each morning is have a glass of hot water with a couple of slices of fresh lemon. It is an awesome way to kick start the system and freshen up the body.

Cory Lee’s new album, Sinful Innocence.

Cory Lee, actor/ singer/songwriter, will appear in CTV’s third season of Instant Star; her sophomore disc, Sinful Innocence has just been released:

Q: What products make you look and feel good?

A: I really do love a number of products. For my hair it has to be Bumble & Bumble. For my sensitive skin I use Biotherm. I swear by Kiehl’s Lip Balm. For makeup my favourite brand is Bobbi Brown. I love MAC eyeshadows — the colours are amazing.

Q: Describe your style?

A: I am a shopoholic! I love clothes and my style switches with my mood. I’d say my weakness is jeans and boots. On my extreme casual days I live in a hoodie and a pair of ripped up Abercrombie & Fitch jeans.

Q: How do you keep life in perspective?

A: I believe everyone is the same. I have watched a lot of my friends rise and fall in this industry and I feel this keeps me grounded and gives me perspective. I believe all I can do is be humble, keep focused, have a plan and work as hard as I can because it could be gone tomorrow.

Q: How do you stay fit?

A: I love to work out so I’m a member of a local gym. I try to take classes in boot camp and kickboxing when I can.

Q: What are your healthy eating habits?

A: I’m lucky because I don’t like sweets or fast food. I try to eat a balanced diet, drink lots of water and take my vitamins.
