The planning and environment committee will be dealing with zoning changes necessary to accommodate the proposed Lansdowne revitalization plan at today’s meeting.

The Lansdowne Design Review Panel will support the zoning changes recommended by city staff, provided some modifications are made.

Recommendations include rezoning Lansdowne from the existing major leisure facility zone to a new major leisure facility subzone, which will allow for additional uses.

In addition to the current stadium complex, a theatre, park and community-type facilities, the new subzone would also allow for a range of additional uses, including retail, personal service, restaurants, offices, a hotel and residential uses.

The report also recommends that the Lansdowne Community Park be retained as a community park.
