The company responsible for a hazmat incident at a downtown Vancouver condo tower did not have a permit to work on the site and does not have a business licence, the city said yesterday.
Residents at the Electra Building were forced from their homes on the weekend after contractors with True North improperly mixed a foam compound, releasing toxic fumes.
“We’re trying to determine whether the scope of the work … (necessitated) a permit,” said Will Johnson, with the city.
