Cop charged in relation to videotaped shove

A Vancouver police officer has been charged with assault for allegedly pushing a woman with cerebral palsy to the ground in the Downtown Eastside in June.

Charges were laid yesterday against Const. Taylor Robinson. The charge follows a three-month investigation into the incident by New Westminster police after the victim filed a complaint.

A security video, showing Robinson pushing the resident to the ground without apparent reason, was made public in July.
