A Calgary cop has been charged with common assault after an off-duty incident at his home in High River over the weekend.
Police said Cst. Neal Stubbs, 32, has been relieved from duty with pay pending a return to work assessment, stemming from an alleged incident in his home on Saturday.
Insp. Ken Marchant of the Professional Standards Section said High River RCMP is investigating the incident and contacted the Calgary Police Service following protocol guidelines.

“As a police force we expect a high degree of professionalism, whether on-duty or off-duty, and look at matters such as this very seriously,” Marchant told Metro.
“It is protocol anytime a member of the police service is being investigated or charged that we are notified.”
