City cops are trying to determine whether a pepper sprayed perp intentionally aimed a vehicle at an officer.

Police spokesman Michael Nunn said officers investigating reports of a break and enter approached a parked vehicle early yesterday morning at a parking lot in the 200 block of 17 Avenue S.W. and found the occupants to be unco-operative.

When one of the cops blasted the truck with a shot of pepper spray after those inside refused to comply, the driver slammed on the gas in reverse, nearly clipping the officer before speeding away.

Nunn said it’s still unclear whether the driver, believed to be a female, was reacting to the pepper spray or made a deliberate attempt to hit the officer during the escape.

Police found the abandoned vehicle nearby.

“Police are still investigating to determine if this was a deliberate attack or a response to the pepper spray,” Nunn said.
