RCMP are on the hunt for a suspected arsonist — or several — after 10 suspicious fires broke out over the course of one hour early yesterday morning.
“Shortly after midnight police were called to investigate what turned out, in a short period of time, to be 10 separate fires in a four-block radius,” said Sgt. Don Davidson.
“Nine of the fires were set in dumpsters and one at a townhouse complex, causing serious damage to two of the structures.”
One of the fires was started in the underground of an apartment building. No injuries were reported but Davidson said police and fire crews were extremely busy.
