Calgary cops spent the day investigating the city’s latest murder yesterday after a shooting in the southwest left one man dead.
Police were called to a residence in Altadore in the 3900 block of 16th St. S.W. around 6:30 a.m. for reports of a disturbance and found one man suffering from at least two gunshot wounds when they arrived.
He was transported to the Foothills hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries where he died.
Duty Insp. Kevan Stuart told Metro the investigation is still in its early stages and police aren’t releasing much information.
Police had cordoned off a house and the entire alley behind the residence yesterday morning, but by afternoon had taped off two more homes down the street and were seen in the backyard of one home collecting evidence.
Halfway through the day police took two people into custody for questioning but they were later released. Bylaw officers were called in to pick up a Rottweiler-cross from the residence.
