Calgary police hope the description of two vehicles seen in the area of a triple homicide on New Years Day will generate clues to find the killers.

Police are looking for a newer-model silver Mazda 3 car and a new-model silver four-door Toyota truck in connection with the triple murder in Bolsa Vietnamese restaurant in the city’s southeast that took the life of an innocent bystander and two others.

“We now believe the vehicles played a role. There is no doubt in gang-related crime there is more help behind the scenes, and we believe there may have been more people involved,” Acting Staff Sgt. Patty McCallum said about the Jan. 1 incident.

Police are hoping the new information might jar people’s memories, no matter how minor the details are, McCallum added.

“Many people may not realize the importance of those details,” she said.
