Halifax Regional Police are looking for at least one suspect after police say a security guard was assaulted in a McDonald’s restaurant early yesterday morning.

Police say they were called to the restaurant at 144 Main St. just after 2 a.m. in response to a complaint that several males were causing a disturbance.

The men, who police say were between 18 and 21, had reportedly been asked to leave by a 24-year-old security guard. In response, police say at least one member of the group punched and kicked the guard, eventually grabbing his baton and attacking him with it.

The guard was not seriously injured.

According to police, the suspects also damaged two windows before fleeing in a white Nissan 240 with a temporary permit.

The main attacker is described by police as a white male, five feet, nine inches tall and 175 pounds with dirty blond hair and an orange and brown coat.
