TORONTO — Some long weekend cottagers in central Ontario could find their electricity off when they arrive this afternoon.

More than 7,600 Hydro One customers are without power in the Bancroft, Minden and Huntsville areas.

High winds are believed responsible for ripping down power lines.

Customers in townships through Minden, Haliburton and eastern Muskokas should be back on line by noon.

Power is expected to be restored by late this afternoon from Burleigh Falls to Havelock and north to townships around Bancroft.

The hardest hit is the Bancroft area, with almost 3,200 customers affected and the Huntsville area has about 2,200 outages.
