The measures include having the city manager offer city staff support and expertise to assist rebuilding key infrastructure in the affected areas in Haiti.
The city would also offer full cooperation to the federal government to provide assistance to Haiti, including setting up an emergency committee with made up of infrastructure, public safety, environmental and emergency services personnel that would create an action plan to determine ways to aid.
The committee would have to waive the rules of procedure in order to consider the motion on short notice.
