Councillor in recovery mode

An Edmonton city councillor is expected to fully recover after suffering a mild stroke over the weekend.

Ward 7 Coun. Tony Caterina checked himself into the University of Alberta Hospital after experiencing minor symptoms.

“He is in good spirits and everything is looking good,” said Caterina’s executive assistant and son Rocco Caterina.

Caterina is expected to be released from hospital as early as tomorrow.

“He is itching to get out already,” said Rocco.

Caterina will remain at home on bed rest for at least a few weeks, his son said.

Although he will not be in council in person, he will be phoning in to work.
