CPS recruits in Edmonton, Saskatoon

Students at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton got a visit from Calgary police today.

The Calgary Police Service was looking for a few good men and women in both Edmonton and Saskatoon yesterday in order to fill 200 new positions by the end of the year.

“It’s about getting the message out to as many people … as possible that we’re hiring,” said Staff Sgt. Craig Skelton, head of the Calgary Police Service recruiting unit.

Skelton said that Grant MacEwan is an especially important place to recruit because of the police studies program offered there.

He cites competitive salaries, progressive management, educational opportunities and the vibrancy of Calgary as potential draws for recruits.
